Guild Wars 2 Living Story: Echoes of The Past Coming In November

Ahhhhhhhhhhh, finally! Living story is coming back! In this trailer, we get a recap of episode 1 to 4 and new scenes of episode 5.

From the look of things, it seems a new space in Dry Top will be opening up. For some reason we get a gimpse of the Shiverpeaks and a mountain surrounded a by a storm of sorts. We may go to that area as well.

There’s also a scene with a statue which was jokingly said to be Abaddon which may not be a joke at all. In all honesty, from the back it looked like it could have been Abbadon (in GW1 Nightfall, you can see Abbadon’s face in the last boss fight). With all the easter eggs in earlier episodes, I’ve been wondering if there is some sort of connection between the Nightmare Realm (aka Abbadon’s prison in GW1 Nightfall) and the Elder Dragons.

There was also a stone Stone Dwarf was with Marjory in a scene. A bit of background for that is that the Deldrimor dwarves used Rite of the Great Dwarf to fight the Destroyers in Eye Of The North expansion but sacrificed their “minds” in a sense because they only have the sole dedicated purpose of defeating Primordius. The only one who didn’t participate in this ritual was a dwarf named Odgen Stonehealer (or at least he didn’t in EOTN as far as I remember) but it seems he was forced to go through the Rite sometime after the events of EOTN. Anyways, that Stone Dwarf is most likely Odgen since he’s the last surface dwarf. In any case, it will be interesting to see what role this dwarf plays in the story.

Finally there was a crystal-like cavern which reminds me of Glint, the Dragon from the Crystal Desert. Mostly because the way to get to Glint’s lair was to go through caverns of crystals. It could be more linked to Kralkatorrik since Glint was Kralkatorrik’s champion.

It’s a little too early to break out all the speculation until we;ve played through the episode but I for one can’t wait! Also, Happy Halloween!
